CAM Meets is the newly rebranded Meet Me at the CAM, an Art History lecture and film series designed for lifelong learners, providing a space for education and discussion about art history and art-making topics. The CAM invites local artists, historians, and museum professionals to lead engaging talks about specific topics.

Fall Schedule 

9.13.22- Anatomy of a Gift with Gerald Mead

Description: In conjunction with the exhibition “Passion & Patronage: Gifts from the Gerald Mead Collection,” art collector and benefactor Dr. Gerald Mead will discuss his 25-year history of gifting and purchasing artworks for the CAM collection and the process that led to his new bequest of 54 works to enhance and expand the Museum’s collection. Learn how and why privately collected artworks become public. 

11.9.22- Documenting Folklife in Niagara with Edward Millar

Description: Learn about how the museum Folk Arts Program supports local communities and their cultural traditions through fieldwork: the act of recording interviews, taking photographs, and taping videos. Explore a guided walkthrough of the newly launched Ransomville Speedway collection at the Library of Congress, and a short-form documentary video series about Armenian traditions practiced in Niagara.  

Preregistration is preferred although registration will be available at the beginning of this event. Please arrive 15 minutes before this event if you plan on registering at the door.
