The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University values volunteers!
Whether you have a little time or a lot, the museum could use your talents! You'll find a friendly, welcoming atmosphere where volunteers are part of the Castellani Art Museum family. You don't need an advanced degree in art history, and you will learn a lot about art.
Children's Art Activities
Help children with art projects that are linked to the museum's exhibitions and permanent collection. The CAM offers Art Express Family Workshops on Saturdays, as well as our popular Kids 'n Arts Camp during the summer. We also have art activities for children at some of our special events. If you like working with children, this ones for you.
Work at our reception desk greeting visitors, answering questions, and taking phone calls. This is the ideal volunteer role for a real "people person" with a sunny personality. We are especially looking for people who can commit to a few hours the same time and day each week, and computer skills are a plus!
Docent (trained tour guide)
Museum docents are community members who serve on a volunteer basis and provide tours of the museum's collections and special exhibitions to visiting groups of all ages, ranging from first graders to adults. Docents attend monthly meetings to learn about special exhibitions and tour opportunities. New docents are mentored by those with more experience before they lead tours on their own.
