Kids ‘n Arts Summer Camp FAQs

What time does camp begin and end each day?
Camp runs from Mondays through Fridays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Does my child need to bring lunch?
Yes, please send lunch with your child as one is not provided. We provide two snack breaks each day. Campers have a choice from a variety of snacks, including pretzels, animal crackers, fruit snacks, granola bars, and more.

I am an NU staff/faculty member. Do I receive a discount?
CAM members, NU Theatre season pass holders, NU faculty, or staff can receive a 10% discount. Only one 10% discount may be applied. For the discount code, please reach out to Evan Wright at evanwright@niagara.edu.

Do you offer a sibling discount or a discount for booking more than one week?
No, we do not offer a sibling discount. However, you can consider becoming a Member to receive discounts. Learn more about Castellani Art Museum Memberships
Camp is $280 per week and each additional week is at a discounted price of $260.

How many campers can enroll in a session? Does the camp sell out?
We have a maximum of 40 campers per week. Most weeks sell out, so registering early is encouraged to ensure your camper’s place.

How many weeks do children attend? Do most children attend all five weeks?
Most children attend at least two weeks of camp. Please note that each week has a different theme with different projects.

How are the campers divided into groups?
Campers will be divided into two separate groups based on age group and grade, approximately ages 5-8 and 9-12.

What is the ratio of campers to counselors? Are the counselors high school students?
There is one  Theater counselor assigned to each age group. The Theater Counselors are assisted by four to six Junior Counselors per age group. Theater Counselors are college students, and Junior Counselors are aged between 13-18 years old.

One of my children is 5 years old but has not started kindergarten.  Are they eligible for camp?
Camp can be difficult for younger children with no previous experience in a structured setting outside the household. Children must be at least 5 years of age, although we are willing to make exceptions if the child has not yet started Kindergarten. We strongly suggest that campers have previous experience in a Pre-K program before attending camp. If you have any specific questions regarding age, please reach out to our Camp Director.

I have a child who has just turned 13, can I enroll them in camp?
For children over 12, we encourage them to apply to the Junior Counselor program which is for children ages 13-17. They do not need any previous camp experience to be able to apply.

My child can no longer attend the camp. Are any of the fees refundable or transferable?
The $50 deposit, due at the time of registration, is non-refundable. If you cancel your child's registration three or more weeks prior to the start date of the session, all registration fees (minus the deposit) will be refunded. Refunds cannot be given if you cancel a session two weeks or less prior to the session start date. If your child wants to enroll in a different session, we will be able to transfer all funds paid to a different session if space is available and if you decide to transfer two or more weeks prior to the start date of the session.

I just registered online. Will I receive additional paperwork? When do I have to make additional payments?
You will receive a confirmation email upon making your deposit that will take you to the registration portal. Upon making a deposit, you will be required to fill out health and immunization questions that are required three weeks before your child's registered camp weeks. They can be sent via email to Alex Filips, Kids 'n Arts Camp Director at alexandrafilips@niagara.edu. The remaining balances are due two weeks prior to the start of each camp session.

Early Dropoff/Late Pickup
A $25 charge will be added for drop-offs before 8:40 and for pickups after 4:20. Latchkey service is not available. Please notify Alex Filips if you plan to arrive early or pick up your child late.

Is there a waitlist for sold-out sessions?
Yes. If you see the week you want is sold out or have specific questions about camp weeks, please contact the Camp Director at alexandrafilips@niagara.edu.
